Problems at working place

Mobbing

Mobbing is a term that is being used a lot lately and refers to bullying and sexual harassment at work place.
This kind of malicious and unfriendly behaviour is most often directed vertically, from employers to employees, although, a horizontal direction is present amongst colleagues at the same or similar hierarchical level.

Also, there are cases of bullying of managers by their employees. For this kind of harassment a new term has been invented – it is Gnibom (read backwards!).

A very sensitive topic is the one that relates to sexually motivated and family based violence as well as the violence against the members of sensitive groups. More and more attention is given to this problem.

Although the law and legal documents do exist, they are not sufficient protection against suffering caused by mobbing. Sometimes a psychological advice is needed too. This is why it makes sense to ask the following questions:

  • How to protect oneself against mobbing at work?
  • When should legal help be sought?
  • What skills and knowledge are needed to avoid becoming a victim?
  • How to recover and overcome the consequences of humiliation: shame, hopelessness, fear?
  • How to control anger?
  • How to go on living?
