Almost every person fears something.
Some fears appear early in life and disappear later, some last longer and others appear throughout life.
There are fears that do not bother us too much but there are those that affect our life really badly. There are also fears that deprive some individuals of happiness and affect their work.
The fear of flying is one them. It can appear even before the very first experience of flying but more often after an unpleasant flight where there were turbulences, a rough ride or uncomfortable landing.
This is then the cause for some people to stop flying or if they continue to do so, they go through personal dramas and panick attacks. They deprive themselves of some wonderful trips, socialising, holidays and good business propositions and positions.
Luckily enough, like all other fears, the fear of flying can be solved and overcome. One needs a lot of patience and perseverance. Like all other fears, this fear has not come ’out of the blue’ – there is always a good reason for it that originates in the past.
That is why there is no ’trick’ to ’remove’ this fear. A lot of work is needed in order to get rid of this fear, above all psychotherapy which, sometimes, can be sufficient.
However, in some situations when a fear is very intense, medication can be a temporary solution, but only if prescribed by a specialist psychiatrist.
People with a fear of flying ought to know that their problems and fears can be solved and that after having gone through psychotherapy and worked on this problem they will be able to travel and fly again and enjoy conquering new freedom of movement.
